The Session View

What everyone sees during a Jam Session — the song content, the play controls, the 4-3-2-1 countdown, and synchronized scrolling. What you can adjust personally and what the host controls.

The session page shows the current song in a full-screen view, the same layout as Play Mode. The host has session controls above the song content. Everyone else sees the song and the play controls.

The play controls

The play controls are available to everyone in the session. During a Jam Session they include:

  • Transpose to change the key on your screen
  • Zoom to change the text size on your screen
  • Theme to switch between light, dark, and system theme

Autoscroll is not available during a session. The scroll is driven by the host at the pace set for each song.

Changes to transpose, zoom, and theme only affect your own screen. They do not change anyone else's view.

The countdown

When the host presses Start or Resume, a large countdown number appears centered on the song content. The song content stays visible behind it.

The countdown fires on every device at the same moment. When it reaches zero, the song begins scrolling.

Synchronized scrolling

Once the countdown finishes, the song scrolls automatically. You do not control the scroll speed. The host sets the duration for each song, and every device follows the same timeline.

If you change your zoom level while the song is scrolling, your position in the song adjusts to stay correct.

What guests cannot do

Guests cannot start, pause, resume, or reset the scroll. They cannot advance songs in a set session or end the session. All playback and navigation is controlled by the host.
