Jam Sessions
Keep every musician on the same chart at the same moment. Start a Jam Session, share a link, and a 4-3-2-1 countdown fires on every device. Then everyone scrolls together.
A Jam Session keeps every device in the room on the same song at the same place. When you start one, a 4-3-2-1 countdown fires on every screen at the same moment. When it hits zero, every device begins scrolling through the song at exactly the same pace.
How sessions work
The host controls the session. They start the scroll, pause it, resume it, and advance to the next song when using a set. Everyone else follows along.
Zoom and transpose are personal. Each person can change the size and key of the chart on their own screen without affecting anyone else's view.
Single-song and set sessions
You can start a Jam Session from a single song or from a set.
Starting from a song runs that one chart from start to finish. Starting from a set queues up every song in the set, and the host can move through them one by one.
Who uses Jam Sessions
Worship teams: everyone follows the same chart on their own device during a service or rehearsal.
Cover bands: run through a full set with consistent scroll timing across the whole group.
Acoustic duos and trios: one person builds the charts, everyone follows during practice.
Teachers and students: the teacher controls the pace, the student follows along.

FAQ
- Do you need a Chordly account to join a Jam Session?
- No. Anyone can join by opening the join link. No account is required. Only the person starting the session needs an account.
- Is starting a Jam Session a Pro feature?
- Yes. Starting a Jam Session requires Chordly Pro. Joining one is free and requires no account.
- Can guests adjust their own view during a session?
- Yes. Each person can change their zoom level and transpose the chords on their own screen. Those changes only affect their own screen and do not change anyone else's view.
- What is the difference between a single-song session and a set session?
- A single-song session covers one song from start to finish. A set session queues up every song in a set, and the host advances through them one by one. Previous Song and Next Song controls appear for set sessions.
- What happens if the host disconnects?
- The session keeps running. A notice appears for the other participants while the host is away. When the host returns, the notice clears and the session continues normally.
- How long does a Jam Session stay active?
- A session stays active for up to 6 hours from when it was created. A session that stays paused for 45 minutes without activity also closes automatically.
