Inviting Collaborators
Add other Chordly users as editors on your song so they can make changes alongside you.
Invite collaborators when someone needs to do more than just open the song. Editors can make changes alongside you instead of staying read-only.
Add someone as an editor
Open the song in the editor.
Click Share.
Search for the friend you want to add.
Click Add as Editor.
Once they have editor access, they can open the song in the editor instead of only viewing it in Play Mode.
Viewer vs editor
Use Viewer when someone only needs to read the chart.
Use Editor when someone should be able to:
- change lyrics
- add or remove chords
- edit formatting
- work in the same song with you
Change someone's role later
The share list in the dialog lets you switch someone between viewer and editor later.
You can also remove access completely if they should no longer be part of the song.
Who you can invite
Direct sharing works through your friends list, so the people you add from the share search are friends, not random public users.
If the person is not already your friend on Chordly, add them first in Find Users and then return to the Share menu.
