Messaging
Send direct messages to your collaborators from within the editor or your dashboard.
Messages are friend-based. You can only message people you're already connected with.
Where to open messages
You can open messages from two places:
- the
Messagespage in the dashboard sidebar - the editor menu through
Messages
Both routes take you to the same friend-to-friend messaging system.
Start or continue a conversation
Open Messages from the dashboard or editor.
Choose a conversation from the list.
Type your message and press Enter to send it.
If you want a new conversation and you do not have friends added yet, start in Find Users first.
What you see in the message list
The conversation list shows:
- your friends
- the most recent message
- when that message was sent
- whether it is unread
Unread messages also appear as badges in the dashboard sidebar and editor menu.
Reading and replying
When you open a conversation, messages update live as new ones arrive.
If someone sends you a message and you open that conversation, Chordly marks it as read.
