Text Formatting
Apply bold, italic, underline, and clear formatting to text in your song.
Use text formatting when you want to emphasize part of the document without changing the layout.
Apply bold, italic, or underline
Select the text you want to change.
Use the formatting buttons in the toolbar:
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
Click the same button again if you want to turn that formatting back off.
If you select multiple lines, Chordly applies the chosen formatting to the selected text across those lines.
Clear formatting
If a section has too much styling on it, use Clear Formatting in the toolbar.
That clears the selected text styling and also resets paragraph-level formatting such as alignment and spacing, so you can start fresh.

What text formatting covers
This part of the toolbar is for lyric and document text. It does not control chord styling.
If you want to style chords themselves, go to Formatting Chords.
