Sharing a Song
How to share your chord sheet with others — via link, by username, or by setting it public.
Use the Share menu when you want another person to open the song, view it, or work on it with you.
Open the Share menu
Open the song in the editor.
Click Share in the header.
Choose whether you want to share directly with friends, change the general privacy, or copy the link.
Share directly with a friend
In the Share menu, use the search field to look up friends by username.
The search only shows friends who do not already have access to the song.
When you find the right person, you can add them as:
ViewerEditor
If someone already has access, use the share list below the search field to change their role instead of searching for them again.
If the person is not already your friend on Chordly, add them first in Find Users.
Copy the song link
The Share menu also includes a Copy link button.
Use that when you want the URL ready to send in a message, text, or email.
The link does not replace the song's access rules. It simply copies the song URL, so the person opening it still needs the right level of access.
Remove access later
The share list shows who the song is already shared with.
From there, you can:
- change someone from viewer to editor
- change someone from editor to viewer
- remove their access completely
