What is a Jam Session in Chordly?
A Jam Session keeps every device in the room on the same chord sheet at the same position. The host starts a 4-3-2-1 countdown and every screen begins scrolling in sync. Guests join by opening a link. No Chordly account required.
How do I start a Jam Session?
Click Start a Jam from the song editor, Play Mode, a set, or the set play-through. An informational screen opens. Click Start a Jam to confirm. Chordly creates the session and shows you a join link to share with your band.
Do my band members need a Chordly account to join?
No. Anyone can join by opening the join link on any device. No account or app download is required to join a Jam Session.
Can I run my whole setlist in one Jam Session?
Yes. Start a Jam Session from a set and every song in the set is queued up in order. The host advances through songs one by one, with a new countdown before each song starts.
Can each guitarist set their own key and zoom?
Yes. Each person can transpose the chords to their preferred key and adjust the text size on their own screen. Those changes only affect their own view. Everyone stays at the same position in the song regardless.
What devices work for a Jam Session?
Any device with a browser: phone, tablet, or laptop. Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac. Guests do not need to download anything.
How long does a Jam Session stay active?
A session stays active for up to 6 hours from when it was created. A session that stays paused for 45 minutes without activity also closes automatically.
